John 3:16 has been
called "God's love letter" to us. No matter how much
unloved we may feel, we can always count on one love--God's love demonstrated
in Jesus Christ. Jesus our King of Love said, "I stand at the door (of your
heart), and knock. If anyone hears my voice, and opens
the door, I will come in..." (Revelation 3:20).
Mel
and his wife Marlene grew up in the Midwest, Marlene in a
farm family in Girard, Illinois, and Mel in a pastor's family in
mostly small town Illinois.
They were married in 1980 and have served eight Southern
Baptist Convention churches over 32 years
of pastoral ministry in Illinois, California, and Hawaii.
They have 4 grown Children and 4 grandchildren.

WHAT WE BELIEVE
We believe the Christian's duty and privilege is to follow Jesus' command to
share the good news of Jesus Christ, reaching out in
Christian witness and ministry to their community state, nation,
and world.
Our beliefs are
in agreement with the 2000 Baptist Faith and Message
statement.
